DIY Fabric Face Mask

Since the Covid-19 pandemic started the demand for face masks has grown exponentially.

I found a really great template for a face mask and it has four different sizes so you can pick a size that suits your needs best.

What You'll Be Needing:

How To Make The Mask:

Step 1: Add seam allowance to the pattern/size that you have picked.

*The purple is 7cm or approximately ¼ of an inch away from the original pattern.

*The brown is 2.5cm or approximately 1 inch away from the original pattern.

Step 2: Pin the pattern to the fabric and cut it out.

Step 3: Put the fabrics "face sides" together and stitch the middle together and notch the curve.

Step 4: Stitch the inner and outer together and notch the curves.

Step 5: Turn the mask "inside out" so that the "face side" is now on show. make sure the seam allowance is pressed to the edge and iron the seams flat. Topstitch along the edges.

Step 6: Fold the excess fabric in half and then fold it over once more. Stitch the edge but remember to make sure that your elastic is going to fit.

*Please ignore my nails. I can't get my nails done during the lockdown.

Step 7: Cut two pieces of elastic about 25-27cm long and insert it in the channel. Tie a knot or sew the ends together and hide it in the channel.

Final Product:

Please stay safe during this time.
